What is Kinomap ?

The Kinomap App turns your treadmill, bike trainer, exercise bike, or rowing machine into a powerful and fun fitness device. The app will take control of your treadmill or other cardio equipment and adjust the resistance and inclination according to the video’s elevation profile (hills). With our video trails, and scenic locations, users can follow courses from all over the world, challenge other users in a live multiplayer competition and compete with them in real time.

What is Kinomap for Races?

Kinomap for Races is a powerful "Race Course Simulation Platform," turning treadmills, spin bikes, rowers and other cardio equipment into race day course simulators, which is accomplished by a video shot by you, the race. It matches endurance events with participants around the globe for training and even official remote participation, bringing the race course to the participant. Once we have created a digital race day course simulation, the event is no longer limited to running or walking, allowing multi-sport participation, letting participants also spin your race, or row your race, at their pace, on their schedule, or in conjunction with the live event on race day. It's the next best thing to being there!

How is this different from a Virtual Race?

Virtual race options became prevalent during Covid-19 as a new revenue stream for races and fundraising option for charities, but as more virtual races become available, it’s getting harder to differentiate your virtual race from everyone else’s. A simulated race experiences enables Race Directors to offer their event to countless participants, while still keeping the course, race day experience and unique aspects of their event. With a simulated race, participants can actually see, hear and “feel” YOUR race course using Kinomap's app with a treadmill, or other type of cardio equipment.  As you look at ways to expand your reach to new participants, here’s a look at the difference between virtual and simulated races.

How will this make money for my Race and/or Charity?

3 main sources of revenue :

#1

Through subscribers downloading your course video to experience and enjoy.

#2

Through simulated race entries which allow runners from anywhere in the world to participate in your event remotely.

#3

Through in-video advertising, providing your sponsors with highly targeted advertising space you

can sell.

OK, so how much is this going to cost?

On the low end, NOTHING, just some of your time. That requires some explanation!  This scenario assumes you can film your course to our specifications. Our most basic filming technique involves a GoPro, selfie stick, and a baby jogger, and maintaining a 10:00/mile (6 mph) pace.  If this is not your thing, we have partnered with two major pacing companies, Beast Pacing and Marathon Pacing, which offer course content creation services for a one time flat fee of $500/mile. We can provide you with contact information to see if they are available in your area.   Of course, if you happen to have a relative or connection who is a Hollywood producer, there is no upper limit on the quality of your course simulation. The better the simulation, the better the experience for the remote participant and the better it reflects on your race! Remember, the world is going to see this. Put your best foot forward!
