For the video makers, Kinomap offers a reward program that is based on video audiences from users when training on their home/bike trainers but also any exercise bike, spinning bike, cross-trainer, treadmill, and rower. The good news is that ALL of our video makers are automatically eligible for the reward program, as soon as they generate a minimum revenue.

Quality criteria for motion videos

To be eligible for use on the app and to provide users with the best immersive experience, videos should meet as many of the following criteria as possible:

Optimal Framing
Keep the horizon line centered in the frame: avoid pointing the camera towards the sky or the ground on flat terrain, as this may distort the horizon line, especially when using wide-angle lenses.

Exposure
Make sure to adjust the exposure so that the image has no overly dark or overexposed areas.

Limited Distortion
Avoid overusing wide-angle lenses! Distorted images that bend straight elements or stretch objects at the edges should be minimized.

Integration of Elements
Additions to the image such as speed or progress data, as well as logos, titles, or any other added elements, are not desirable. They may interfere with Kinomap’s training screen elements.

Foreground Obstructions
Keep the foreground clear. You can follow a training partner, but give them a few meters of lead so they don’t block the view.

Stabilization and Consistent Framing
Videos should benefit from digital or mechanical stabilization to avoid shakes, distortions, or small unwanted movements. Also, avoid frequent, fast, and repetitive camera movements.

Continuous Movement

Keep moving—cut out equipment preparation phases and avoid filming stationary moments.

Note! If you cut out stopping phases during editing, make sure to also cut the associated GPX file.
Discover VGsync, a free tool powered by Kinomap that makes this easy.

Weather and Environment
Prefer attractive weather conditions and environments that promote a sense of escape.

Videos are evaluated based on the number of criteria they meet and are labeled as Excellent, Good, Average, or Poor.
